Our story — since 1959
From bergen,with cold
Sixty-seven years of cold. One idea: warmth that travels.
The brand was created by travelers, for travelers
Travel to Antarctica — or travel inside yourself. Even among the endless ice you can feel the freedom of expression. Choosing bergen is choosing yourself.

The patent
A winter in the Barents Sea. Seafarer Gustav Bergen returns to shore with a sketch of a quilted lining that kept his crew working through the storms. The same year he patents Bertex — an insulation built to hold warmth in wet polar wind.

The brand
Bertex becomes bergen. The first parkas leave the workshop — cut for cities, rated for expeditions. First Edition opens the line and stays in it, unchanged where it matters.

The test
February 2024. A sled crew crosses the Antarctic shelf in production parkas — no prototypes, the same jackets sold in store. Coldest point on the route: −52 °C.

The world
bergen enters the international market. EU and North America — the same capsule, the same tests, prices from €189 to €399. The Russian store keeps working; the map just gets bigger.

What we carry
Love of nature
Nature sets the standard. Every collection is tested outdoors — on ice, at sea, in wind — before it is sold anywhere.
Freedom
Even among endless ice you can feel the freedom of expression. Gear should extend your range, never limit it.
Team unity
From sled crews to the workshop floor — no one crosses the ice alone. We build for the group that keeps you warm.

The mark
Antarctic
Ambassador
Penguins survive the Antarctic winter the way we build jackets — by keeping warmth close and staying with the group. The patch on every sleeve reads Antarctic Ambassador — Polar Outerwear. It is sewn on after the final quality check, never before.
