1959

Seafarer Gustav Bergen develops the first Bertex insulation on the Norwegian coast.

2016

Bergen is founded — by travelers, for travelers. Bertex becomes the core of every jacket.

2024

Antarctic expedition, February. Tested at −52 °C and 80% humidity — every system passed.

2026

FW 26 Polar Collection. Four Bertex technologies across the full range, −35 °C as standard.

Bertex 01 · Natural insulation

Down

Select natural goose down — featherlight, warm to −35 °C, molecularly purified. Every batch certified free of bacteria and radiation.

Bertex 02 · Long-fibre insulation

Warmlett

Long-fibre insulation, the warmest to date. Fibres 50 times thinner than a hair keep their loft wash after wash — tested at −52 °C in Antarctica.
